Stake Verification: KYC Levels and Documents
Before the first rupee withdrawal, Stake betting needs to know who you are. The Know Your Customer process is split into levels that you complete over time, from basic personal details to an ID document, proof of address and, for some players, proof of where the money comes from.
Why Stake Verification Is Required
As a licensed operator, Stake has to confirm that each player is an adult, lives where they say and plays with legitimate money. The checks also protect the account: they make it harder for someone else to withdraw your balance and ensure that winnings go to the right person. For players in Pakistan verification has a direct practical effect, because PKR withdrawals require Level 2 and the country chosen in Level 1 decides whether the PKR option appears in the wallet at all. Completed verification also unlocks extras such as the birthday bonus and chat rains.
Stake KYC Levels
| Level | Information or document | What it unlocks |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Full name, date of birth, residential address, country | Deposits, races and raffles, local currency for your country |
| Level 2 | Passport, national ID or driving licence (both sides) | PKR withdrawals, chat rain eligibility |
| Level 3 | Proof of address, issued within 6 months | Requested by compliance when needed |
| Level 4 | Source of funds, e.g. salary slips or bank statements | Requested for larger activity |
The compliance team may request any document at any time, so a higher level can be asked for even if you only play with small amounts. Answer such requests quickly: until they are completed, withdrawals may stay on hold.
How to Verify a Stake Account: Level 2
Choose the document
For most Pakistani players this is the CNIC (both sides) or a passport.
Place it on a flat, dark surface
All four corners must be visible and nothing may cover the text.
Photograph it in daylight
No flash, no glare, no blur; colour and high resolution only.
Upload the original photos
Use the verification section in your account settings; screenshots are rejected.
Wait for the review
Keep the e-mail notifications on so you see a request for a better photo.
The document must be valid for at least three more months, physically undamaged and in Latin international format. Only photographed documents are accepted; digital versions, scans saved from apps and documents in other formats are not.
Selfie with ID
Sometimes a selfie with the identity document is requested. Hold the document in one hand next to your face, without covering the face, and look straight at the camera. Stand in front of a well-lit background, ideally in natural light, and avoid flash, which creates reflections on the card. Glasses, sunglasses, hats and headbands should be removed, and the image must not be mirrored — front cameras often flip the picture, so check the text reads correctly before uploading. Files must be JPG or PNG; zip archives are not accepted.
Proof of Address and Source of Funds
Accepted for proof of address
- Utility bill: electricity, gas, water, internet or TV
- Bank or credit card statement
- Government tax letter or municipality bill
- Stamped and signed letter from an employer or educational institution
- Tenancy agreement or bank reference letter in English
Not accepted
- Mobile phone bills
- Purchase receipts
- Medical bills
- Screenshots of documents
- Anything older than six months
For source of funds the list includes bank statements covering 3–6 months, salary slips, investment statements, inheritance or company-sale papers, lottery winnings with the related bank statement and, for miners, a mining ledger with wallet address and transaction hash. Every document must show your full name and address, the issuer and the issue date.
Why Verification Gets Rejected
- Cut-off corners or fingers over the document.
- Glare from flash that hides the name or number.
- Mismatch between the name on the account and on the CNIC.
- Expired or nearly expired documents (less than three months left).
- Screenshots or edited images instead of original photos.
A quick fix for most of these is to retake the photo instead of editing it. If the name on the account was typed differently from the document, ask live chat to correct it before uploading again.
Verification Bypass and Verified Accounts for Sale
Offers to bypass Stake verification or to sell a level 2 verified Stake account circulate on Telegram and forums. They break the Terms of Service, which allow only one personal account, and accounts that are bought, sold or registered in someone else's name can be closed together with their balance. There is also a simpler risk: the seller keeps the e-mail and documents and can take the account back at any time. Playing without completing KYC is possible for deposits and bets, but PKR withdrawals stay locked until Level 2 is approved.
How Your Documents Are Used
KYC data is used to confirm age and identity, prevent fraud and money laundering, and make sure withdrawals reach the right person. Because of these legal obligations, Stake keeps certain account data even after an account is closed, which is why complete deletion is not offered and only account closure is possible. Upload documents only inside your account on stake.com and never send them through chat links or e-mails from addresses outside @stake.com.
Verification FAQ
Does Stake require KYC?
Yes. Verification is done in levels: Level 1 personal details, Level 2 an identity document, then proof of address and source of funds when requested. PKR withdrawals need Level 2.
Which documents are accepted for Level 2?
An international passport, a national ID card photographed on both sides, or a driving licence on both sides. Other document types are not accepted.
How long does verification take?
No fixed time is published. Reviews are quicker when the photos meet every requirement on the first upload, so most delays come from rejected images.
Can I use a screenshot or a scan from my phone gallery?
No. Original photographs in colour and high resolution are required; screenshots and digital-format documents are rejected.
Is it safe to buy a verified account?
No. Selling, buying or sharing accounts breaks the Terms of Service, and such accounts can be closed with their balances. A purchased account also gives the seller access to your money.
