Stake Mines: Rules, Multiplier Chart and Strategy

Mines is the Minesweeper-style favourite of the Stake online casino: a 5×5 grid hides gems and between 1 and 24 mines, every gem raises your multiplier, and one mine ends the round. The in-house version is provably fair, runs at 99% RTP and lets you set the risk with a single slider.

Mines shares its controls with the other in-house games: bet amount with ½ and 2×, a Bet button and a Fairness button under the board. Its closest relative is Dragon Tower, where you also reveal safe tiles row by row.

How to play Mines

  1. Set the bet

Enter your stake, for example 200 PKR, or use ½ and 2×.

  2. Choose the number of mines

Drag the Mines slider from 1 to 24. The Gems counter shows how many safe tiles remain.

  3. Press Bet

The round starts; the mine positions are already fixed by the seeds.

  4. Reveal tiles

Click tiles one by one or use Random Pick. Each gem raises the multiplier shown in Total Profit.

  5. Cash out

Lock in the win at any time. Hitting a mine ends the round and the stake is lost.

The number of mines is effectively your personal volatility setting. More mines mean fewer wins with larger multipliers; fewer mines mean frequent, smaller wins and an easier path to building a modest multiplier before cashing out.

How the Mines multiplier is calculated

Every multiplier is the fair payout for the risk taken, minus the 1% edge. If the board has m mines and you have already found i gems, the next tile is safe with a chance of (25 − m − i) ÷ (25 − i). The fair multiplier for k gems is the product of the inverse chances, and the game pays 99% of it:

Multiplier = 0.99 × (25 ÷ (25 − m)) × (24 ÷ (24 − m)) × … for k steps

This is all a mines calculator needs. With 3 mines, the first gem is safe 22 times out of 25, so the fair payout is 25 ÷ 22 = 1.136, and 99% of that is 1.13x. Clearing every gem on a 3-mine board multiplies out to 2,300, which becomes the 2,277x shown in the game.

The same formula explains the extremes. With 1 mine, the first gem pays 0.99 × 25 ÷ 24 ≈ 1.03x and succeeds 96% of the time. With 24 mines there is only one gem, the first click pays 0.99 × 25 = 24.75x, and it succeeds 4% of the time.

Mines strategy and common mistakes

Because every click has the same 1% edge, no pattern of tiles is better than another — corners, diagonals and “hot spots” are pure superstition. What a strategy can do is control risk:

  • Fix a target before the round. For example 3 mines and 5 gems for 2.00x; stop there every time instead of chasing one more tile.
  • Match stake to mines. On 10+ mines most rounds lose, so stakes should be a small share of the session budget.
  • Use Repeat and Clear wisely. Repeat replays the last tile pattern; it saves time but does not improve odds.
  • Avoid martingale. Doubling after each loss from 100 PKR reaches 6,400 PKR after six losses, and a 2.00x target loses about half the time.

Auto mode's Advanced settings can raise or reset the stake after wins and losses and stop on a profit or loss amount. Always set the stop-on-loss, and back it up with account-level loss limits.

Mines predictors, bots and hacks

A Stake mines predictor, a mines predictor APK or a ChatGPT Stake mines predictor are among the most searched tools in Pakistan, and every one of them leads to sellers who promise to show where the mines are. That is impossible. The mine layout for each round is produced by a random number generator from your client seed, a server seed that is hashed and locked before you bet, and a nonce. The predictor would need the unhashed server seed, which is only revealed after you rotate it — when the round is long over.

Predictor sellers usually ask for your username and password, a payment, or a deposit through their link. The result is a lost fee or a stolen balance. Never share login details or 2FA codes. The only file worth installing is the official Stake APK download for Android.

What you can do is check past rounds yourself: rotate the seed pair and recalculate the mine positions with the provably fair tools.

Mines demo and low-stake practice

The official Mines page does not describe a demo mode. In practice the minimum bet — the equivalent of $0.0001 — is low enough to learn the game for a few rupees: try 20 rounds with 3 mines and a 3-gem target, then 20 rounds with 10 mines and a 1-gem target, and compare how often each wins. In PKR, originals accept stakes up to 300,000,000 with a maximum profit of 30,000,000 PKR per bet. Every round also counts towards VIP progress and towards rakeback, which a referral bonus code switches on from the first day.

Mines FAQ

What is the RTP of Stake Mines?

99.00%, so the house edge is 1.00%. The RTP is the same whether you play with 1 mine or 24 mines.

How many mines should I choose?

There is no best number. Fewer mines mean frequent small wins; more mines mean rare, larger wins. With 3 mines, five gems pay 2.00x and succeed about half the time.

What is the maximum multiplier?

It depends on the number of mines. With the default 3 mines, clearing all 22 gems pays 2,277x. With 24 mines, the single gem pays 24.75x on the first click.

Do mines predictors work?

No. Mine positions are generated from a hashed server seed, your client seed and a nonce before the round starts, and nobody can see them in advance. Predictor apps, bots and Telegram channels are scams.

Is there a Mines demo?

The official page does not describe a free demo. The minimum bet is tiny, so a few rounds at the lowest stake are the safest way to practise.

Can I use Auto mode in Mines?

Yes. Auto plays your chosen tiles for a set number of rounds, and Advanced settings add stake changes on wins or losses plus stop-on-profit and stop-on-loss limits.
