Stake Plinko: How to Play, Payout Table and Strategy

Plinko is the best-known game made by Stake: a ball drops through a pyramid of pins and lands in a pot that multiplies your bet. Inspired by the Japanese Pachinko arcade and the Plinko board from the TV show “The Price is Right”, the in-house version adds four risk levels, 8 to 16 rows and a top prize of 10,000x, with a 99% RTP on every setting.

Plinko is one of 31 in-house titles, and it shares their interface: the control panel on the left, the board on the right and a Fairness button underneath. If you already play Mines or Dice, the bet field with ½ and 2× buttons and the Auto tab will look familiar.

How to play Plinko

  1. Set the bet amount

Type a stake in the Bet Amount field or use ½ and 2×. A 100 PKR ball is a sensible starting size for a 5,000 PKR session.

  2. Choose the difficulty

Low (Easy), Medium, High (Hard) or Expert. Higher risk widens the edge multipliers and shrinks the centre pots.

  3. Choose the rows

Pick 8 to 16 rows. More rows spread the results further and unlock the biggest edge multipliers.

  4. Press Bet

The ball bounces left or right on every pin and lands in a pot. Your win is the stake times the pot's multiplier.

  5. Switch to Auto if needed

Set the number of balls and stop limits, or press the spacebar hotkey for quick manual drops.

The centre pots always pay the least because most balls end up there; the outer pots pay the most because only a few balls reach them. On 16 rows the ball has to bounce the same way sixteen times to land in an edge pot, which happens in 2 of every 65,536 drops — about once in 32,768 balls for either edge.

Plinko payout table by risk and rows

The official game description publishes the maximum multiplier for every combination. The figures are the edge pots; the centre pots go down to 0.1x on Expert.

The default board in the game is Medium with 16 rows. Its pots read, from edge to centre: 110x, 41x, 10x, 5x, 3x, 1.5x, 1x, 0.5x and 0.3x in the middle. With a 100 PKR ball, a centre landing returns 30 PKR, a 1x pot returns your 100 PKR, and an edge pot returns 11,000 PKR. Most balls finish within the middle five pots, so on Medium a session tends to lose slowly with occasional jumps.

How risk level and rows change the game

Both settings move volatility in the same direction, and combining them makes the biggest difference. Easy mode gives the most balanced distribution: the top pot on 16 rows is only 16x, but the centre pots lose little, so the balance moves slowly. Medium keeps a balanced variance with more upside. Hard boosts volatility and unlocks multipliers up to 1,000x. Expert is a different game altogether: the 0.1x minimum means most balls lose 90% of the stake, while a perfect edge landing pays 10,000x.

Lower volatility

Easy or Medium, 8–12 rows. Small wins and losses, long sessions, good for clearing turnover for VIP progress.

Higher volatility

Hard or Expert, 14–16 rows. Long losing streaks with rare big hits; budget for many balls without a return.

Changing the settings never changes the RTP — it stays 99% — so there is no “best” setting, only the one that suits your budget.

Plinko strategy that actually helps

No pattern of drops beats the 1% house edge, but these habits control how long a budget lasts and protect you from expensive mistakes:

  • Start slow on new settings. Expert needs a different approach from Hard, because losing balls are far more frequent.
  • Size balls for the session. On Expert, a stake of 1% of the session budget or less leaves room for long dry spells; 50 PKR balls on a 5,000 PKR budget is a reasonable ceiling.
  • Plan Autobet before pressing start. Decide the number of balls and the stop-on-loss point in advance and do not change them mid-run.
  • Use Instant Bet carefully. It removes the animation and makes play much faster, which also makes losses faster.
  • Ignore the history. Previous landings do not affect the next ball.

Account-level loss limits and time-outs back these habits up and stop a session automatically.

Is Plinko fair?

Every ball is generated from a server seed, a client seed and a nonce. The server seed is shown only as a hash while it is active, so the casino cannot change it after you bet; your client seed can be changed at any time; the nonce counts each drop. When you rotate the seed pair, the original server seed is revealed and every previous ball can be recalculated — in the game's Fairness window or with any third-party provably fair verifier. This is also why Plinko predictor apps cannot work: the information they would need is hidden until the round is over.

Plinko demo and small-stake practice

Players often search for a Plinko demo. The official game page does not describe a free-play mode, so the safest assumption is that real balls need real money. The good news is that the minimum stake is tiny — the equivalent of $0.0001 — which makes it possible to test every risk level and row count for a few rupees. A useful exercise is to drop 100 balls at the minimum stake on Medium 16 rows and then 100 on Expert 16 rows: the difference in how often the balance moves is the clearest lesson in volatility you can get. Rakeback is earned on these bets too once a referral bonus code is active.

Plinko on a phone

On mobile the pyramid sits on top and the controls move underneath: the Bet button first, then the bet amount, difficulty and rows. The board scales well in portrait mode, and the multiplier pots stay readable even with 16 rows. Auto mode works the same as on desktop, so set the stop-on-loss before you lock the screen. To open the game in one tap, install the Stake download APK on Android.

Plinko FAQ

What is the RTP of Stake Plinko?

The game has a 99% return to player and a 1% house edge on every setting. Risk level and rows change the spread of payouts, not the long-term return.

What is the maximum win in Plinko?

10,000x the bet, available only on Expert risk with 16 rows. Hard with 16 rows pays up to 1,000x, Medium up to 110x and Easy up to 16x.

Is there a Plinko demo?

The official game page does not document a free demo mode. The minimum bet is the equivalent of $0.0001, so the cheapest way to learn the game is to drop a few balls at the smallest stake.

Can a strategy beat Plinko?

No. Each ball is an independent, provably fair result with the same 99% RTP. A strategy can only control how fast you spend your budget and how much risk you take.

How do I check that a Plinko result was fair?

Open the Fairness button under the game to see your client seed and the hashed server seed. After you rotate the seed, the revealed server seed lets you recalculate every ball.
