Stake Tennis Betting: Odds and In-Play Markets
Tennis is in the Top Sports menu of Stake sportsbook, with ATP events at the top, live set and game scores on every card and odds that move after each point. It suits Pakistani bettors who like short decisions: a single match offers a winner market, around eighteen extra markets and plenty of in-play swings.
How the tennis section works
The tennis page has the same three tabs as the rest of the sportsbook: Live & Upcoming, Outrights and All Tennis. Top Tennis groups matches by tour and tournament, for example “ATP Lyon, France Men Singles”. A match card shows the players with their flags, a Live label and the current set when the match is in progress, the score by sets and games, a stream or statistics icon and the Winner odds. Matches that have not started show the date and time or a countdown such as “13m”. A “+18” on a card means eighteen extra markets on the match page. Live cards also show arrows next to the odds — red when a price has just shortened, green when it has drifted — which helps you see which way a match is moving.

Match winner and other markets
The Winner market is two-way, with no draw. Before a match it reflects rankings and form — Lorenzo Musetti was 1.27 against Moise Kouame at 3.50 in Lyon — and during play it reflects the score. In one live match Stan Wawrinka was 1.45 and Martin Landaluce 2.55 at the start of the deciding set; a few games later the prices had moved to 1.10 and 6.00. A 1,000 PKR stake on the 6.00 price would return 6,000 PKR if the underdog turned the set around. The extra markets on the match page cover the score in sets and the number of games, which pay more than the winner but need a more exact outcome.
| Situation | Odds | Return |
|---|---|---|
| Clear favourite before the match | 1.27 | 1,270 PKR |
| Even match | 1.89 | 1,890 PKR |
| Underdog before the match | 3.50 | 3,500 PKR |
| Underdog late in a deciding set | 6.00 | 6,000 PKR |
Set betting explained
Set betting means predicting the exact set score. In a best-of-three match there are four possible outcomes — 2-0 or 2-1 for either player — and in a best-of-five Grand Slam match there are six. Because the outcome is more precise, a set-score bet on the favourite pays considerably more than backing the same player to win. It also lets you express a view such as “the favourite wins but drops a set”, which often happens against an awkward opponent or on a slow surface. The trade-off is clear: a favourite at 1.27 might win the match comfortably and still lose a 2-0 set bet if the second set goes the other way.
In-play tennis
Tennis is one of the best sports for live betting because every point changes the picture. A break of serve can shift a match winner price from 1.45 to 1.10 or the other way round within a couple of games. Markets are suspended for a moment at key points and reopen at new prices, so bets placed in the middle of a rally may be rejected. Cash-out is available on markets that are open and covered live; it is not offered while the market is suspended and may fail if the price moves during the time delay. Many bettors watch the first few games before betting live, because serve speed and movement say more than the pre-match price. On a phone, a Stake app download puts the bet slip in the bottom bar and keeps live bets quick.

Tips for tennis bettors
- Surface matters: some players are much stronger on clay, grass or hard courts.
- Watch the schedule: a player coming off a long match the day before may tire late.
- Mind retirements: an injured player can retire mid-match, and undecided markets may be voided.
- Avoid long favourite combos: four favourites at 1.30 give only about 2.86, and upsets are common.
- Set a session budget: live tennis offers hundreds of decisions a day — fix the PKR amount first.
Tennis bets count three times towards VIP progress.
Retirements and voids
The Stake Help Center names retirements and interrupted matches as typical reasons for void settlements: if a player retires or play is stopped and not resumed, markets that were not decided can be voided and settled at odds of 1, which returns the stake. In a multi, only that leg becomes 1.00; in a Same Game Multi, one void selection voids the whole slip. Whether a particular market stands or is voided after a retirement depends on that market's own rule in the betting rules.
Tennis betting FAQ
Which tennis tournaments are listed?
Top Tennis opens with ATP events, such as the ATP tournament in Lyon, followed by other tours and competitions in the All Tennis tab. Grand Slams and their outright markets appear when they are played.
What happens to my bet if a player retires?
If a match is interrupted and not resumed, or a player retires, markets that are not decided can be voided and settled at odds of 1. The exact treatment of each market is set out in the Sports Rules.
How does live tennis betting work on Stake?
Live matches show the set and game score on the card, and odds change after points and games. Markets are suspended for a moment at key points such as a break of serve and then reopen at new prices.
What is set betting?
Set betting means predicting the exact set score, such as 2-0 or 2-1 in a best-of-three match. It pays more than the match winner because the outcome is more precise.
Can tennis matches be streamed?
Some live matches show a play icon on the card, which opens a stream on the match page. Others have a statistics icon only.
Do tennis bets count for VIP progress?
Yes. Tennis bets are sportsbook bets, so they count three times towards VIP levels and earn rakeback on a 3% theoretical edge.
